THE SEASON SO FAR

Duop Reath’s opening stretch of the 2025-26 season was defined by extreme rotational irrelevance. He mostly logged empty cardio sessions. During a disastrous 11/11 vs ORL appearance, he recorded zero points, zero rebounds, and zero assists in four minutes, resulting in a brutal -13.7 Impact score. When a big man takes the floor and completely fails to secure the glass or generate any tangible stats, the underlying metrics punish him severely. He briefly escaped the doghouse on 11/06 vs OKC, catching fire to drill four three-pointers for 12 points in 20 minutes. That rare burst of perimeter spacing earned him a +3.3 Impact score, his only positive mark of the entire stretch. However, even when he managed to score efficiently, his hidden costs remained high. Despite hitting two threes for six points on 11/09 vs MIA, his glaring lack of playmaking and defensive resistance dragged his Impact down to -7.4.

Duop Reath spent this eleven-game stretch fighting a brutal slump, largely relegated to brief, ineffective cameos at the end of the rotation. He occasionally found ways to survive without his jumper. During the 11/24 vs OKC matchup, he logged 20 minutes and generated a +1.4 Impact score despite bricking all four of his three-point attempts, keeping his value afloat through sheer hustle and battling for three rebounds. His lone offensive eruption arrived during the 12/07 vs MEM contest. In 19 minutes of action, Reath drilled three of his four triples to tally 12 points, earning a +5.0 Impact score by finally punishing defensive rotations and knocking down open looks. That fleeting rhythm evaporated completely during the 12/12 vs NOP game. He settled for poor perimeter shots, missing all three of his deep attempts to finish with just two points and a dismal -12.2 Impact score. When a stretch big cannot hit consistently from outside, his minutes quickly become a massive liability.

Duop Reath spent this ten-game stretch marooned at the end of the rotation, battling a severe offensive slump that rendered him nearly unplayable. During an abysmal outing on 12/23 vs DET, he posted a staggering -13.4 impact score in just six minutes. That disastrous rating was the direct result of empty cardio, missing both of his shots, and failing to generate any meaningful resistance on the floor. He finally found a sliver of utility on 01/18 vs LAL, grinding out a +1.0 impact score despite scoring only five points. That rare positive mark stemmed entirely from his effort on the glass. He secured five rebounds and did the dirty work inside instead of forcing bad looks. Contrast that with his performance on 01/16 vs ATL, where he tallied a stretch-high eight points but still finished in the red with a -0.8 impact. The hidden cost in that matchup was his erratic shot selection; chucking six three-pointers to scrape together those points derailed the offensive flow and completely negated his scoring entirely.
