THE SEASON SO FAR

Tidjane Salaün's early 2025-26 campaign was defined by wild, unpredictable swings between looking completely unplayable and suddenly flashing elite offensive upside. During a brutal stretch in early November, erratic shot selection completely tanked his value, bottoming out on 11/01 vs MIN with an abysmal -12.8 Impact score as he bricked all four of his three-point attempts and grabbed just a single rebound. Yet, he occasionally found ways to tilt the floor without scoring. On 10/26 vs WAS, Salaün posted a +5.2 Impact on just four points by crashing the glass for seven rebounds and making smart, timely hustle plays. Conversely, double-digit scoring nights often hid glaring flaws. He dropped 10 points on 12/02 vs BKN, but still registered a -1.9 Impact because his offensive production was offset by defensive lapses and poor positioning that bled points on the other end. Everything finally clicked on 12/06 vs TOR when he caught fire from deep, pouring in 21 points on 5-of-6 three-point shooting to generate a massive +20.9 Impact.

Tidjane Salaün’s mid-season stretch off the bench was defined by maddening inconsistency, oscillating wildly between aggressive frontcourt play and total offensive invisibility. He looked like a genuine rotational steal on 12/27 vs ORL, racking up 14 points and 9 rebounds on near-perfect 6/7 shooting to generate a massive +12.5 impact score. That stellar rating stemmed directly from his ruthless shot selection and relentless physical activity on the glass. However, high counting stats in one category did not always translate to winning basketball. On 12/30 vs MIL, Salaün pulled down 11 rebounds in 28 minutes but still posted a dismal -7.2 impact. He managed a mere 3 points on 1/4 shooting in that contest, crippling his team's half-court spacing with extreme passivity. This tendency to vanish entirely reached its nadir on 01/06 vs OKC. He logged 13 minutes without taking a single shot, resulting in a catastrophic -16.9 impact score that punished his complete refusal to engage in the offense.

Tidjane Salaün’s midseason stretch was defined by tantalizing flashes of energy that were ultimately swallowed by erratic shooting and a vanishing role. He looked like a genuine steal on 01/19 vs DEN, pouring in 13 points and grabbing 11 rebounds on highly efficient 6-of-8 shooting. That relentless activity on the glass and smart shot selection earned him a massive +13.9 impact score. The offensive discipline rarely lasted, though. He completely abandoned his interior game on 02/20 vs CLE, settling for bad perimeter looks to finish with just 3 points. Chucking away possessions with a 1-of-7 field goal mark—including an abysmal 1-of-6 from deep—dragged his value down to a brutal -12.3 impact score. By the spring, his leash had disappeared entirely, bottoming out on 04/12 vs NYK with zero points and zero rebounds in four empty minutes. That ghost-like performance yielded a -11.6 impact, highlighting the harsh reality that a complete lack of floor engagement makes him an active detriment off the bench.

IMPACT TIMELINE
