THE SEASON SO FAR
Sidy Cissoko’s first 25 games were defined by a disastrous mid-November promotion to the starting lineup that quickly exposed his glaring offensive limitations. Even when his perimeter shot briefly woke up on 11/22 vs GSW, his 15 points still resulted in a poor -5.2 Impact score. That negative rating stemmed directly from his inability to do the dirty work, grabbing just a single rebound and offering empty scoring calories that failed to elevate his teammates. He looked much more comfortable returning to a reserve role weeks later, peaking on 12/12 vs NOP with an efficient 20-point outburst. By draining 8 of his 12 shots and attacking decisively without forcing bad looks, he earned a stellar +12.9 Impact score. Unfortunately, those rare flashes were routinely swallowed up by nights where he was completely unplayable, such as his 12/21 vs SAC disaster. Missing all five of his field goal attempts en route to a brutal -17.9 Impact score, Cissoko devolved into an offensive black hole who actively sabotaged his team's floor spacing.
Sidy Cissoko spent the middle third of the 2025-26 season trapped in a brutal cycle of offensive volatility, bouncing between the starting lineup and the bench while searching for a reliable jump shot. His worst nights were defined by hesitant shot selection and empty possessions. He hit rock bottom on 01/08 vs HOU, going completely scoreless on just three field goal attempts to post a dismal -18.1 impact score. Yet, just when you thought he belonged permanently at the end of the bench, he would randomly catch fire. On 01/01 vs OKC, Cissoko drilled five three-pointers en route to 19 points, generating a +5.2 impact score driven entirely by sudden perimeter confidence. The underlying problem is that his offensive disappearing acts routinely canceled out his hustle. Even when he found ways to contribute on the glass, like grabbing 10 rebounds on 02/07 vs MEM, his erratic 3-for-10 shooting crippled the offense and dragged his overall impact down to -2.5. Until he stops alternating between hot shooting nights and complete zeroes, his rotation spot will remain firmly in flux.
Sidy Cissoko spent this late-season stretch drowning in a brutal offensive slump. He was completely unable to carve out a reliable role, bleeding value almost every time he stepped onto the hardwood. His lone flash of competence arrived on 03/13 vs UTA. He aggressively hunted his shot to drop 14 points on 6-of-10 shooting, earning a +3.6 Impact score by finally finishing plays instead of deferring. However, when gifted a temporary spot in the starting lineup on 03/23 vs BKN, the experiment collapsed. Despite logging 28 minutes and tallying four assists, his passive 2-of-5 shooting and porous defensive rotations resulted in a miserable -14.0 Impact score. Disasters like 04/06 vs DEN, where he went scoreless and posted a staggering -16.3 Impact in just eight minutes, told the real story. He simply consumed empty minutes, bricking outside looks and failing to justify a spot in an NBA rotation.
