THE SEASON SO FAR

Jalen Duren transformed from a promising rim-runner into an absolute interior terror to open the 2025-26 campaign. He utterly obliterated the Mavericks on 11/02 vs DAL. Pouring in 33 points on 13-of-16 shooting, he generated a massive +37.1 Impact score through hyper-efficient shot selection and relentless rim pressure. Four days later, he ripped down 22 rebounds alongside 22 points on 11/06 vs UTA, earning a +36.7 Impact by completely monopolizing the glass and out-hustling everyone in the paint. But the young big man still suffers from occasional bouts of tunnel vision. Take his 12/06 vs POR outing as a prime example of empty calories. Despite scoring a respectable 18 points, he logged a -3.1 Impact score because his scoring was dragged down by a total lack of playmaking—finishing with zero assists—and sluggish defensive effort. When engaged as a two-way anchor, Duren is a monster, but he must eliminate the nights where he merely hunts his own looks.

This midseason stretch was an absolute interior takeover, a period where Jalen Duren battered opposing frontcourts with relentless efficiency and glass-cleaning aggression. He reached his absolute peak on 01/29 vs PHX, missing just a single shot from the floor. By pouring in 23 points on 10-of-11 shooting and grabbing 13 rebounds, he generated a massive +37.1 Impact score driven entirely by flawless shot selection and sheer physical dominance. Even when his scoring volume dipped, his brute force created massive value. During the 01/16 vs PHX matchup, Duren scored a modest 16 points but still posted a +22.8 Impact score because he completely hijacked the game with 18 rebounds and suffocating defensive effort. The only way to neutralize him was to take him off the floor entirely. A sluggish outing on 02/05 vs WAS yielded a dismal -13.4 Impact score, a direct result of logging just 13 minutes, grabbing a meager three rebounds, and failing to anchor the paint.

This late-season stretch marked a terrifying offensive breakout for Jalen Duren, who transformed into an unstoppable, hyper-efficient force around the rim. He set the tone early on 02/27 vs CLE, logging a massive +47.9 impact score by bullying his way to 33 points and 16 rebounds across 42 grueling minutes. His shot selection was virtually flawless during this run. This ruthless interior efficiency was perfectly captured on 03/17 vs WAS, where he dropped 36 points on a ridiculous 13-of-17 from the floor to earn a +38.7 impact mark. Duren also started punishing defensive rotations with sharp passing from the post. On 03/26 vs NOP, he paired 30 points on 10-of-12 shooting with seven assists, generating a +37.0 impact score by tearing apart coverages and dominating the glass. When a center combines automatic finishing with relentless rebounding, opposing frontcourts simply run out of answers.
