THE SEASON SO FAR

Sandro Mamukelashvili spent the first twenty games of the 2025-26 season morphing into a highly combustible offensive sparkplug off the bench. His peak arrived on 11/21 vs WAS. Relentless rim-running and confident floor spacing fueled a 23-point explosion that earned him a staggering +16.4 impact score. He also learned to influence winning even when his jumper abandoned him. On 11/30 vs NYK, he shot poorly but still generated a +3.1 impact score through phenomenal defensive positioning and consistent hustle on the glass. Conversely, his passive stretches carried hidden costs. On 10/27 vs SAS, a drastic drop in offensive involvement and zero rebounds dragged him to a -3.9 impact score despite perfect shooting efficiency. When he decisively attacks closeouts and stays engaged, he completely transforms the second unit.

This stretch was defined by wild volatility, with Mamukelashvili oscillating between a brilliant frontcourt connective hub and an offensive black hole. On 12/04 vs LAL, he stuffed the stat sheet with 13 points, eight rebounds, and five assists, but his icy 4-for-13 shooting dragged his overall impact down to a -1.6. He found ways to contribute without filling it up on 12/02 vs POR, managing a +0.5 impact on just six points by shifting his focus entirely to facilitating and defensive connectivity. Yet, when his jumper abandoned him, he became a glaring liability. During a brutal outing on 12/31 vs DEN, he rushed his mechanics and bricked all five of his shots, killing offensive momentum for a disastrous -9.7 impact mark. When he plays within himself as a floor-spacing release valve, he elevates his teammates. But the moment he forces bad perimeter looks, his on-court value evaporates instantly.

This twenty-game stretch was a wildly volatile ride for Sandro Mamukelashvili, alternating between lethal floor-spacing brilliance and frustrating shooting slumps. He looked like a legitimate offensive weapon early on, particularly on 01/23 vs POR, where his sizzling efficiency fueled 22 points and a +4.4 impact score. He later embraced a bench sniper role, peaking on 02/05 vs CHI with a massive +14.4 impact mark by stretching the floor beautifully and anchoring the defense. But scoring totals often masked hidden costs. On 02/04 vs MIN, he managed a respectable 14 points, but his tendency to bite on pump fakes and surrender cheap fouls dragged his overall impact down to a -0.6. Cold shooting nights were even worse. During a brutal outing on 02/11 vs DET, his awful perimeter shot selection derailed offensive momentum and fed opponent run-outs, resulting in a dismal -3.5 impact score. Mamukelashvili remains a potent frontcourt weapon when his feet are set, but his defensive lapses and erratic shot selection make him a gamble every time he checks in.

A late-season breakout defined Sandro Mamukelashvili’s stretch run as he evolved into a hyper-efficient, floor-stretching sparkplug. He initially stumbled during a Mar 11 vs NOP matchup, posting a brutal -11.1 impact score because he abandoned his offensive versatility to exclusively hunt three-pointers. However, he quickly corrected course and erupted during a spot start on Mar 23 vs UTA. He poured in 23 points, but his staggering +21.0 impact score was truly driven by relentless activity on the margins, generating an elite +8.1 hustle rating and a +11.1 defensive mark. Even when his perimeter touch completely vanished, the big man still found ways to win his minutes. On Apr 09 vs MIA, he managed a meager 5 points on 2-of-6 shooting, yet salvaged a +1.1 impact score through elite defensive positioning (+5.0) and high-energy hustle plays (+2.3). By blending fluid off-ball movement with a willingness to do the dirty work, Mamukelashvili transformed into a genuine matchup nightmare for opposing second units.
