THE SEASON SO FAR
Lachlan Olbrich’s start to the 2025-26 campaign was defined by a desperate, often fruitless struggle to justify his spot at the end of the bench. Far too often, the big man simply floated aimlessly on the perimeter, turning his limited rotation minutes into empty cardio. When given a season-high 16 minutes on 01/07 vs DET, he bled points through slow rotations and defensive miscommunications, resulting in a brutal -10.7 impact score. He finally flashed some genuine utility on 02/01 vs MIA. By utilizing decisive cuts and sharp spatial awareness in the dunker spot, he poured in nine points and generated a season-best +6.5 impact score. Even when his offensive game remained dormant, he occasionally found ways to survive on the floor. During his shift on 03/05 vs PHX, Olbrich managed a +2.1 impact despite scoring just four points, salvaging his value entirely through sturdy defensive anchoring. If he wants to escape garbage time permanently, he must stop blending into the background and start imposing his physical will on the margins.
