THE SEASON SO FAR

Bismack Biyombo's early 2025-26 campaign was defined by absolute offensive invisibility and a complete inability to leave any physical imprint on the game. During a 12-minute shift on 10/26 vs BKN, the veteran center failed to attempt a single field goal while grabbing just one rebound, resulting in a bleak -10.2 impact score. Even when handed a spot start on 12/06 vs CLE, his production barely twitched. He logged a mere four points and zero rebounds in 10 minutes, generating a dismal -9.2 impact. These consistently horrific metrics stem directly from his lack of defensive effort and a total absence of meaningful hustle plays. A big man playing brief stints must at least clean the glass or protect the rim, but Biyombo routinely finished games like his 10/31 vs MIA appearance with zero points, zero assists, and a staggering -10.6 impact. He simply burned clock.

Bismack Biyombo spent this mid-season stretch anchored to the deep bench, logging meaningless garbage-time cameos that actively hurt his team. Take his appearance on 02/10 vs LAL. He grabbed 4 rebounds in 10 minutes but missed his only shot, resulting in a brutal -12.2 impact score because he simply ate up clock without providing any offensive gravity. Even when he managed a rare perfect shooting night on 03/03 vs PHI, hitting both his attempts for 5 points, his overall presence remained a net negative. He still posted a -6.0 impact score in that contest due to securing just a single rebound in 12 minutes of action while failing to anchor the paint. Shorter stints were equally bleak, like his ghostly one-minute run on 01/28 vs HOU that yielded zero stats across the board and an -8.8 impact score. When a veteran big man cannot muster a single positive impact rating over an eight-game span, his roster spot becomes impossible to justify.

Bismack Biyombo’s latest stretch of the season was defined entirely by empty, fleeting cameos at the absolute end of the rotation. He rarely saw the floor for more than a handful of minutes, operating as a deep-bench placeholder who failed to generate any meaningful production. During the 03/08 vs HOU matchup, he logged four minutes of pure cardio. He grabbed just a single rebound and posted a dismal -14.1 impact score because his complete lack of offensive gravity actively hindered his unit. Even when he managed to find the basket, his underlying metrics remained harsh. In the 03/21 vs IND game, Biyombo scored a stretch-high four points on perfect 2/2 shooting, yet still recorded a -9.1 impact score since those isolated buckets could not mask his failure to protect the rim or secure more than one board. When given a slightly longer leash in the 03/25 vs MEM contest, he corralled four rebounds in nine minutes but missed his only shot attempt, yielding a -11.3 impact. Ultimately, these brief appearances revealed a veteran big man who is simply occupying space rather than altering the weather in the paint.
